The only survival/egress knife chosen by the U.S. Army for its Air Warrior Equipment System, the Rothco Ontario ASEK-Airscrew is a soldier's best friend. The knife--which measures 10.25 inches overall--features a sturdy 5-inch carbon-steel blade with a zinc phosphate finish to inhibit rust. The blade sports a serrated edge with saw teeth on the spine, along with a hardness rating of Rockwell C 50-54. The knife also includes an insulated handle that's molded over the blade guard, with a lanyard hole and glass breaker on the butt cap for good measure. The high-strength, machined-aluminum handle will not melt or shatter.

To complete your survival kit, the knife comes with a flame-retardant nylon sheath, a Kydex insert, two leg protectors and straps, two oxygen valve and shackle wrenches, and a strap-cutter multi-tool (the strap cutter blade is replaceable). The Rothco 3274 Ontariio ASEK-Aircrew Survival Egress Knife is the one and only survival/egress knife chosen by the US Army to be included in its Air Warrior Equipment System; it includes the knife, sheath and strap cutter multi tool. The knife is made of .1875" thick 1095 carbon steel with a zinc phosphate finish to inhibit rust. The blade also has a serrated edge and saw teeth on the spine. The overall length of the knife is 10.25", blade is 5" with a hardness of Rockwell C 50-54. The knife's insulated handle is molded over the blade guard and has a lanyard hole and glass breaker on the butt cap. the nylon sheath is flame retardant and includes a Kydex insert, two leg protectors and straps. Behind the knife is a strap cutter multi-tool. The high strength, machined aluminum handle will not melt or shatter; it also has two oxygen valve and shackle wrenches along with a lanyard and bead for easy locating. In addition to the blade end of the knife, Gerber also gave the LMF II a unique, pointed buttcap that is made of stainless steel. This heavy end can be used to pierce glass in the event you need to egress from a helicopter or other vehicle. The buttcap features a smart design that is physically separated from the tang in order to offer shock absorption when it's used as a hammer and also to prevent electrical shock.

Smart, Versatile, Comfortable Design
